Havasu City, reflecting Jim's lifelong commitment to supporting the work
of the church.

Jim married the love of his life, Marcia Lea (Richart) Hyland on
September 23, 1960, and together they spent the next 65 years building a
life centered on faith, family, and community. Jim was preceded in death
by his beloved son, Kelley Hyland. He is survived by his wife, Marcia,
his son, Tracey Hyland and daughter in law, Donna, daughter in law
Vicki, wife of the late Kelley, his grandchildren Stephanie Rebelo and
husband Anthony, Chaz and wife Lindsey, Trevor and wife Larissa, and
great grandchildren Maximus, Loretta, London, Sayre, Zach, and Caleb.

Jim worked for many years as an air traffic controller, and that career
took the family to Florida, Georgia, Missouri, California, and even San
Juan, Puerto Rico, an especially exciting and memorable adventure for
Kelley and Tracey.

Jim was also an entrepreneur. He owned and operated Palm Lanes Bowling
Alley in Gainesville, FL with his father. Later, Jim and Marcia owned
and operated two restaurants: Sitting Bull's Last Stand and the Hickory
Smokehouse in Wrightwood, CA.

In 1986, Jim became the senior pastor at Phelan Community Church in
Phelan, California, a ministry he loved and served in for the next 29
years. During that time, he went with grandson Trevor to Bulgaria on a
baseball mission trip. He also coached baseball at Serrano High School
in Phelan. Jim retired from Phelan Community Church in 2015. After that
he served as the interim pastor at Olive Garden Church in Nuevo,
California and the You are Missionary Church in Reseda, California. Jim
and Marcia moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ in 2021 and Jim served at
Calvary Baptist Church as Campus Pastor there.

He was a lifelong fan of Chicago sports teams, especially the Bears and
the Cubs. He was thrilled when the Cubs broke the "hundred year
drought" and won the World Series in 2016. He loved his dogs, Daisy Mae
and Jake, his faithful companions. Above all, he loved the Lord and his
family.
