NORDELL, Daniel J.

Published by Yuma Sun on Mar. 13, 2026 - Yuma, Arizona - Daniel J. Nordell of Chula Vista, CA, passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on December 24, 1956, in Rockford, Illinois, He was surrounded by his loving family. Daniel led a life marked by dedication to his family and service to his community. Daniel graduated from Coconino High School and furthered his education at SWC. He proudly served in the Army, where he embraced the discipline and camaraderie that military life offered. After his military service, as a MP, Daniel continued his life of service by joining the Yuma Police Department, where he dedicated 17 years to ensuring the safety and security of his community. After retiring from YPD he continued his law enforcement career for an additional 16 years as an investigator with San Diego County District Attorney Office. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; children, Aubrey, Jennifer, and Justin; grandchildren, Zaine, Draike, Jackson, Lainee, and Emma; sister, Debbie and brother, Terry. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Marjorie, and sister, Kay. Daniel will be remembered for his unwavering integrity and commitment to his family and community. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him. Celebration of Life will be held March 28, 2026 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Yuma Civic and Convention Center.
