| Published by Today's News-Herald on 18 Mar 2026 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Arden Dale DuBois, 97, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 10, 2026. He was born on November 16, 1928, in San Luis Obispo, California, to Cecil Scott DuBois and Velda Pauline DuBois. Arden proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Seabee during World War II and the Korean War. He was honorably discharged after his faithful service to the nation he loved so deeply. A proud American and patriot throughout his life, Arden continued to support fellow veterans as a member of the American Legion Post #57 in Ash Fork, Arizona. In 1953, Arden met the love of his life, Juanita Mae. After only three short months, the two were married on Friday, March 13, 1953, beginning a devoted marriage that lasted 57 wonderful years until her passing. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. Arden was a business owner in West Covina, California, where he worked for many years while raising his family. He and Juanita made their home there, where they lovingly raised their three daughters. In the 1980s, Arden and Juanita retired to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. They enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their RV, creating many wonderful memories along the way. Arden lived a Christian life and was known for his dedication to his family, his country, and his community. In his free time, he enjoyed model trains, camping, fishing, boating, watching Western and military movies, solving word search puzzles, and playing his favorite card game, Phase 10. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Juanita S. DuBois; his parents, Cecil Scott DuBois and Velda Pauline DuBois; his sister, Marylou Patterson; and his son-in-law, John Mullen. Arden is survived by his three daughters: Diane Kaye Melancon of Tomball, Texas; Lori Ann Mullen of Manhattan Beach, California; and Lisa Marie DuBois of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Christopher Shuff; Danielle Bastoe (Scott); Shane DuBois (Haven); and Nicolette O’Dell (Devan). He was blessed with many great-grandchildren: Joliet and Julian Shuff; Scott Bastoe Jr. (Lindsey); Eric Bastoe (Kristen); Wyatt Bastoe; Phoenix and Forrest Beauregard; Tatum DuBois; and Evelyn and Sean O’Dell; as well as great-great-grandchildren Micah and Jake Bastoe. Arden’s life was defined by service, devotion, faith, and love for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. Services will be handled by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, with a graveside service and military honors at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are warmly welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
