| Corp. Christy Killed Sat. While Loading Freight Corporal Allen Christy was killed almost instantly Saturday afternoon when he fell from the top of a truck load of boxes and one of the large boxes fell on top of him, crushing him badly. He was one of an escort of soldiers hauling the Seventeenth cavalry freight, and was seated on top of the load, when, probably due to a jar, the boxes shifted and he was thrown to the pavement and the box fell on him. He was 30 years of age and was a member of the Medical detachment. His wife resides at 1404 B avenue. Corporal Christy was born at Jazgot, Turkey. The funeral arrangements have not been completed. The Cadwell-Porter Undertaking company are in charge. Douglas Daily International March 31, 1919 |
