| Kansas City Star (Kansas City, Missouri) Sunday, October 29, 1989, p. 36 The Rev. W. Howard Blazer, 80, Apache Junction, Ariz., former pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Lee's Summit, died Oct. 14, 1989, in a nursing home in Apache Junction. Mr. Blazer was pastor at the First Presbyterian Church of Lee's Summit from 1950 to 1953. He then was pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Branson from 1953 to 1959 and at Presbyterian churches in Blairstown and Monett in Missouri. He was pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Wickenburg, Ariz., from 1967 until he retired in 1974. Before moving to Lee's Summit, he was pastor at a Presbyterian church in Rich Hill, Mo. He was a graduate of Dubuque (Iowa) University and the Central Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Kan. He was a member of Rotary International. He was born in Canyon, Texas, and had lived in Arizona since 1967. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Blazer of the home; a son, Larry Lewis Blazer, Kansas City, Kan.; a daughter, Sherralea Blazer McKeown, Phoenix, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church, Mesa, Ariz. The family suggest contributions to the Central Baptist Theological Seminary. |
