MICHAEL ALLEN RIDLEY passed quietly to God at 1:15 p.m., February 11 in his longtime home in Flagstaff, AZ.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; his sons, Nick (Judy) Balser, Allen (Kandyce) Balser; and adopted sons, Jim and Josiah Ridley. He is blessed with seven grandchildren.
Michael was a successful life insurance salesman and financial planner for 51 years, first with MassMutual as an agent, then as District Manager. He eventually opened his own independent business, Northern Financial Group.
Michael had the good fortune of growing up in a loving, involved family. His father, Donald, was a scoutmaster, and his older brothers, Peter and Thomas, as well as Michael, all became accomplished Eagle Scouts.
Michael's mother, Marguerite, was of German descent, and planned a month-long educational tour in Europe for the whole family while the children were in grade school.
Michael was very talented musically. As well as being Drum Major in high school, he also won the John Philip Sousa Award for outstanding high school musician. The Ridley family had the good fortune of hosting an American Field Service student from Italy (Claudio) who became like an adopted member of the family.
Mike and Jane enjoyed 37 wonderful years exploring God's beautiful earth and traveled to more than 50 countries. They also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their beautiful Flying Eagle Ranch @ Willow Creek.
Michael was an elder in Christ's Church of Flagstaff and a home group leader as well. He served as chairman of the Goodwill board for many years. He was a friend to everyone and was always generous to many charities and ministries. He loved God and always reflected the love of Christ in his words and behavior.
Celebration of Mike's life will be on May 16, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Christ's Church of Flagstaff, 3475 E. Soliere Ave., Flagstaff, AZ 86004.
