Published by Arizona Republic on Apr. 24, 2026 - Phoenix, Arizona - Albert "Albie" Gomez Jr., 54, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on April 10, 2026. Albie grew up in Puerto Rico and New York, and throughout his life also lived in Texas, North Dakota, Minnesota, Florida, and Arizona. He was a man of many talents and a strong work ethic. Known as a true jack of all trades, he worked as an electrician, auto mechanic, and handyman, dedicating himself to renovations and maintenance work. He took pride in being able to fix, build, and create anything he put his mind to. Albie was a kind and generous person who was always there to help someone in need. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh, bringing light and joy wherever he went. He also took great pride in his appearance and had a unique sense of style-his wardrobe was famously impressive, with a love for accessories and an especially large collection of tennis shoes. He had a deep passion for DJ'ing, playing billiards, working on cars, and enjoying his RC cars. He was also a fan of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and had a creative side, enjoying sewing. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family, friends, and his beloved dogs-Ninji, Roxy, Mia, Lola, and Khloe. Albie is survived by his loving wife, Kristina; his daughters, Aliyah, Chelsea, and Alaina; his stepdaughter, Jasmine; his sisters, Paris (Johnny) and Natalie (Alex); his father, Alberto and his cherished grandchildren, Shantaya, Brooklyana, Sabrina, and Azaelia. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Felicia "Cookie" Marquez. Albie will be remembered for his generosity, his humor, his style, and the unwavering love he had for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Forever loved, forever missed.
