CHESHIRE, Kathilynn Antoinette

Published by Yuma Sun on Apr. 26, 2026 - Yuma, Arizona - Kathilynn Antoinette Cheshire, born on July 8, 1967, in Yuma, AZ, found peaceful rest with the Lord on March 5, 2026 while at home in Williams, AZ. A force of nature even from a young age, Kathilynn always championed a spark of spirited fun and whimsy that peeked through her down to earth nature. She grew up on the heifer farm with Grandpa Harry and Grandma Julie, and later gave no small amount of stress to her parents, Joy and Stewart Bradshaw as she grew. After her graduation from Yuma High School in 1985, she attended the University of California Berkeley for a time before she moved to North Carolina. Upon returning to Yuma in 1990, Kathilynn entered the escrow and title sector, in which she remained for the rest of her career. Her greatest joy in work was the stories uncovered during title back-searches and teaching others as a licensed escrow instructor. While Kathilynn travelled back and forth from Yuma up to Williams for several years, in 2025 she fully relocated to Williams, where she lovingly dubbed her blue house on the hill "Granny Kuku's". She spent her evenings amongst the pine trees with her faithful Labradoodle guard, Bear, her maniac office chair buddy, Dee the cat, and her companion, Stevo. Kathilynn's true love lay in music. Nurtured from childhood on Grandma Norma's piano, it followed her through life as she played the flute, piccolo, and, most beloved, the cello. The love and joy with which she played was poured into her time with the Yuma Orchestra, with whom she was active for over ten years. Wholly devoted to sharing the love of music with others, Kathilynn was both a board member of the Yuma Orchestra Association and a concert cellist within the Civic Orchestra and Civic Light. Every chance she could, she dedicated her time and heart to nurturing young musicians and encouraged adults in the orchestra program. Health permitting and even after her move up to Williams, Kathilynn spent four days a week practicing and thriving within the melodies alongside her companions within the Orchestra. The memories made, the love shared, and the melodies played will echo on and resonate in the hearts of her Orchestra family. Kathilynn is survived and missed by her mother, Joy; her siblings, Frank, Dana, Lori, and Mike; her children, Jon Cole, Alexandra, and Abigail, and her grandson Hudson. She was predeceased by her father, Stewart, and her husband, Jon B. Vance. We ask that you remember her for the love and joy she brought to all who knew her. Remember the way she would always encourage and cheer on others, cowbells in hand. Honor her in finding the little joys in life and thriving on the melody of living with hope in your heart. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:45 pm, Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Trinity United Methodist on 8th Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Yuma Orchestra Association to provide an opportunity to youths and adults to experience the joy and love of music that will carry them through life.
