Published by Mohave Daily News Online on Apr. 29, 2026 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Sandra Gay Sockwell passed away February 24, 2026 in Bullhead City, Arizona due to complications of Alzheimer's. Sandra was born August 29, 1935 to Jesse and Alice Box in Snyder, Oklahoma. She graduated from Snyder High School in 1953. Sandra grew up in a loving home and was surrounded by an active extended family. Sandra was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Sockwell (2020). They were married 66 years. Her passing was also preceded by her younger brother, Billy Bob (2020) and his wife Sonja (2023). She is survived by three children; Cinda Harmes (Mike), Kendall Sockwell (Michelle), and Kathy Showalter. Four grandchildren; Jason (Kim), Samantha (Landon), Amanda (Lucas) and Dillan. She had the great pleasure of knowing each of her 10 great grandchildren. Sandra had a beautiful singing voice. In addition to singing in her church choir, as a teenager, her mother drove her most weekends from Snyder to Wichita Falls, Texas where she sang on the radio. Sandra was an accomplished seamstress, sewing our school clothes, costumes, special event attire and beautiful wedding dresses. Sandra and Tom moved to Bullhead City, Arizona in 1985, where they were active members of the community. They also attended the Community Lutheran Church and were an instrumental part of the church's annual Christmas program. Sandra's strong faith in God has seen her through the rough spots in her life. Sandra spent her last four years in Davis Place Assisted Living in Bullhead City where she had the great fortune to meet her friend and companion Charlie Squilla. Charlie was by her side until the very end. For that, our entire family is forever grateful. Sandra will be laid to rest next to Tom at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9 at the Community Lutheran Church, 2275 Ricca Road, in Bullhead City. We loved our mother and deeply grieve her passin
