Trudy Alice Lopez, aged 82, went to be with the lord on April 22, 2026, in Yuma, AZ. Born on July 8, 1943, Trudy dedicated her life to serving God. Her love for family, friends and community was a big part of her life and was a strong prayer warrior. Her desire was for others to know and love the Lord as she did, praising God with her last days here on earth. Trudy was an elder of the Quechan Indian Tribe, where she managed the trailer parks on the Quechan Reservation.
Before retiring, she worked for the Ft. Yuma ADAPP, contributing significantly to her community. Trudy was an avid participant in church where she joyfully preached and shared her faith. Trudy attended San Pasqual and was the first class in the new school and later obtained her G.E.D.
Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Durand and Marie Penn Hill; her husbands, Henry Montague Jr. and Bacilio (Richard) Lopez; and her brothers, Carroll Hill, Neil Hill, Hershel Durand, Stacy Durand; sister, Nedra Durand; son Tyron Walker.
She leaves behind her sons, Lionel Montague Sr. and Bruce Montague; daughter, Henrietta Walker; sister, Wanda Barton; grandchildren; Tracy Pailzote, Paulena Montague, Nikki Montague, Lynette Juan, Caroline Herrera, Joseph Montague, Lionel Montague Jr, Heather Herrera, David Montague; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Honorary Pallbearers are Lionel Montague Sr., Bruce Montague, Ramon Barton, Todd Durand, Brandon Durand, James Jackson Sr., James Montague, Aaron Juan, Joseph Montague, Lionel Montague Jr., David Montague, Mike Fish, Boyd Hill Jr. Pallbearers will be all family and friends.
A Celebration of Trudy's Life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at VIDA ABUNDANTE Church, 465 1st St, Winterhaven, CA from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, followed by cremation at the Quechan Big House at 5:00 pm, 1877 Picacho Road Winterhaven CA.
