It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Wayne Mains, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew him. Richard passed away on April 2, 2026, and was surrounded by family. He was born on Sept. 3, 1945, to the late Charles and Marcella Pifer Mains in Grapeville, Pennsylvania. He married Mary Francis Mains on Sept. 30, 1967, and they ventured out to Kingman, Arizona in 1970 so that Richard could work at the Duval Mine. He retired from the Mohave County Road Department.
Richard is preceded in death by His four sisters, Margie, Naomi, Marcella "Honey", Donna, and his five Brothers, Charles, Kenny, Paul, David, and Joe. His two daughters, Helen T. Mains and Rachel D. Mains. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary Mains, his daughters: Kimberly A. Mueller (Roger), Tammy L. Sipe (Royal), Christine J. Mains, Heather Wiesenberger (Marc), his sister, Brenda Keffer, his grandchildren: Isaac, Ethan (Kirsten), Alex, Emily, Noah (Taylor), Breydon, Helen, Sloane. and His Great-grandson Greyson. and many nieces and nephews.
He spent his retirement teaching bible truths and the hope we all have of seeing our loved ones again. Revelation 21:3,4 and Isaiah 65:21. We will wait patiently for him to be in the kitchen again, making spaghetti and red velvet cake.
