MANCHESTER, Larry Lee


Bradbury memorial Center - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Larry Lee Manchester, 83, formerly of Swartz Creek, Michigan, passed away after a prolonged illness, on March 6, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on May 30, 1942, in Flint, Michigan, to Lawrence and Jeanette Manchester. He graduated from Flint Southwestern in 1960. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Larry married the love of his life, Patricia (Temples), on October 12, 1966. He retired from General Motors in 2006. He spent 38 years working as a Journeyman Tool Cutter Grinder at the Chevrolet V-8 Engine plant and as a licensed substance abuse counselor for fellow GM employees. Larry loved his family and the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and rock collector. He spent many years coaching his son’s ice hockey teams, including the Swartz Creek High School team. His backyard was always a favorite in the neighborhood because of the outdoor rink he constructed every year for his boys. After retirement, he and Patricia spent their winters in Solome, Arizona, where they made many friends and loved driving their side by side in the surrounding mountains. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, David and Jimmy Manchester. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons Aaron (Julie Ann) and Christopher (Gretchen); grandchildren Francis, Owen, Emmie, Dylan, and Nora Manchester; step-grandchildren Brandon (Hannah) and Brittney Johnson; a sister, Jean Ann Bundschuh; several in-laws; and many nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Larry's internment, with military honors, will take place on June 11, 2026 at 1:30 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Michigan.
