Two Local Teens Killed In Fatal Crash Near Aguila

Christie Sue Mallicoat, 16, and Jeremiah Fellows, 18, suffered fatal injuries on Dec. 15 after the 1993 Toyota pickup truck they were in crashed head-on with a semi-truck trailer two miles east of Aguila on U.S. 60. Both were Wickenburg residents.

Department of Public Safety reports said the incident happened when the person driving the pickup, believed to be Fellows, passed a vehicle on the shoulder of the road and then lost control. The pickup slid into the oncoming lane of traffic and was struck by the semi-truck. The driver of the semi-truck, 47-year-old Gary Kenyon of Prescott Valley, was uninjured and had been wearing a seat belt. The DPS said it is unknown if Mallicoat and Fellows were wearing their seat belts.
