Published by The Miner on May 28, 2026 - Kingman, Arizona - Katherine Ann “Kat” Layton Williams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 59 years old. Kat was born on July 6, 1966, in Calexico to Gerald Lee Layton and Mary Ann Stanfield. She spent her life devoted to her family, her faith, and the people she loved most. Known for her caring heart, strength, and warm spirit, Kat touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was proud of her roots in Tucumcari and later made her home in Golden Valley with her beloved husband, Gary Williams. Together they built a life centered on love, faith, family, and enduring devotion to one another. Kat will be remembered for her warm smile, her compassionate nature, and the way she made others feel welcomed and loved. She found great joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories, and supporting those around her through both happy and difficult times. Her love, laughter, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She was preceded in death by her parents, and both sets of grandparents. Kat is survived by her loving husband, Gary Williams; her three sons; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her six brothers and sisters; her stepmother; along with many extended family members and cherished friends. A memorial service celebrating Kat’s life will be held on June 13, 2026, at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the beautiful life and legacy of Katherine Ann “Kat” Layton Williams.
