Published by Mohave Daily News Online from Jun. 3 to Jun. 4, 2026 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Richard "Richie" "Joe" Hazlewood, age 62, tragically passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, following a motorcycle accident. He was a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, humor, and generous heart touched countless lives. Richie was known as the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He had a rare gift of making people feel seen and important, always taking time to ask how others were doing and genuinely caring about the answer. His larger-than-life personality, contagious energy, and love for motorcycles, fast cars, the Colorado River, and time spent with friends and family created memories that so many will cherish forever. To those who knew him, Richie was more than a friend - he was family. His loyalty, laughter, adventurous spirit, and unwavering presence left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Richie was preceded in death by his stepfather, Dale Smith; and sister, Karla Smith Koonze. Richie is survived by his loving daughters, Chevel Halstenberg and Jo-Dale Rose Hazlewood; his cherished grandchildren, Jaxson, Nicholas, and Nathan; his parents, Christie Martinez, Richard Hazlewood, and Judi Hazlewood; and his siblings, Stacie Wunker, Elizabeth Isaacs, Kimberli Willis, Shivaun Schmidt, Clayton Hazlewood, Nico Harrison and Brandon Harrison; along with many extended family members and lifelong friends who loved him deeply. He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, coworkers, and all whose lives he touched. Though his passing leaves an unimaginable void, the memories, laughter, and love he shared with others will live on forever. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at El Rio Country Club in Mohave Valley, Arizona.
