Published by Today's News-Herald on June 13, 2026 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Shirley M. Hedding passed away in Lake Havasu City May 17th 2026. Shirley was born Feb. 28th, 1935 (91 years old) in Austin Texas. She then moved to N. Hollywood CA. in 1945. She graduated from N. Hollywood High in 1953. After high school, she met Jim and moved to Thousand Oaks CA. In 1974, we moved to Lake Havasu City AZ. She got her 1st job @ LHHS where my brothers & my friends came to know her as "Mom". If any of our friends needed a place to stay or something to eat, my mom took them in. She loved Lake Havasu & the lake! She loved going out on the Pontoon boat. People came to her boat because she had the best Bloody Mary's & food on the lake. Mom lived her life to the fullest. Loved country music and line dancing. Enjoyed all holidays especially St. Patrick's day. A longtime member of the Eagles, Elks & VFW. She worked at the Department of Economic Security (D.E.S) for several years and retired at the age of 83. Mom was proceeded in death by parents Grady & Gladys McCormac, Brother John McCormac. Survived by sister Paulene, sons Scott Hedding, Dan (Shannon) Hedding, grandsons Taylor Hedding, Ryan (Makailyn) Hedding, and great grandchildren Alice & Sylas Hedding. We miss you Mom.
