RICHTER, Shirley Lee

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, July 01, 2009 Shirley Lee Holmes Richter was born in Bakersfield, Calif., to Lee and Muriel Holmes on March 30, 1927. Her Savior Jesus Christ welcomed her home the morning of June 10, 2009, in Pomona, Calif. She married Fred Robert Richter Dec. 27, 1946. Fred preceded her to glory after 53 years of marriage. Shirley is survived by her two children, Fred "Rick" Richter (Susie) and Deborah Sutherland (Rob), as well as grandchildren Matthew Richter, Jessica Sutherland, Timothy Richter, Amanda Sutherland, Rachel Sutherland and Joanna Richter. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Shirley lived many places during her life, including Prince George, Canada; Sierra Madre, Calif.; and Bullhead City, Ariz.; but her happiest years were the 30 years she and Fred lived in Chino Valley, Ariz. There on the front porch they watched countless sunsets that only Arizona can provide. Stone Funeral Home in Upland, Calif., assisted the family with final arrangements.
