Mary Jane Mathews, 69, of Apache Junction went to be with our heavenly father on June 22, 2009. Born June 4, 1940, in Crestline, Ohio, to John and MaryAnn Hoover. Mary met and married Ernest Mathews April 6, 1961, and moved the family to Arizona in 1967. Mary left behind four children Robert (Yolanda), Karen, Helena and Raymond; twelve grandchildren Liz, TJ, Sean, Adam, Monte, Sabrina, Joe, Justin, Brandon, Ray, Dillon and Sierra; 13 great-grandchildren Danny, Alannah, Celeste, Jeremiah, Hailey, Anthony, Alex, Cadence, Catlen, Cayla, Carlos, Ernie and Tony. Everyone who knew her, knew her as grandma. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Ernie of 40 years in 2001, her sister Patricia and brother Jim. Grandma, you were such a strong women and a fighter, you worked hard your whole life and you were always there for us. You were an inspiration to us all. You are an angel now with beautiful wings. All though you may not be with us in body, we know you are with us in spirit. You are at peace and an rest now. We love you and you will be greatly missed.
