Art Stadler was born June 15, 1916 in Duluth, Minn, and passed away peacefully to be with our Lord in Heaven on Nov 4.

He worked as a commercial artist in Chicago and in 1952 moved to Wickenburg, Ariz, with his wife Melba and three young daughters. There they owned Many Feathers Trading Post, and Art began carving birds. His work was soon being shown in art galleries in Arizona and was featured as a complement to the Audubon exhibit last fall at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum.

He was an avid water-skier, fisherman, and reader of western novels, a member of First Presbyterian Church of Wickenburg, and a charter member of Elks Lodge 2160.

He is survived by Melba, his wife of 66 years, and daughters Marcia Cochran (Bob) of San Antonio; Diane Sullivan (Bill) of Phoenix, Candy Green (Dennis) of Phoenix, sister Kathleen (Eldred) Strebe, grandsons Randy Moening (Traci), Darrel Moening (Raylene), Tim Henson (Cailin), Matt Henson (JeDebra), Chris Green (Theresa), Patrick Green (Rhonda), and great-grandsons Joey Henson, Connor Moening, Chase Moening, Braeden Moening, and Kendall Moening.

A memorial service will be held Friday (Nov 9) at 2pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Wickenburg, 180 N Adams St.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial gifts be sent to Hospice Family Care, 9045 W Athens St Bldg 1, Peoria, AZ 85382.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home.
