Theodore ‘Ted’ DeBoer

Theodore John DeBoer was born March 8, 1936 to John and Eleanor of Beach, N.D.

The family moved to Wisconsin where he finished high school and went into the United States Army.

After his service and schooling, he returned to Wisconsin where he married and had three sons.

He took a job with Totem Ocean Trailer Express in Anchorage, Alaska, where he lived many years.

He met Pam Connolly, and they married in 1999. Two years later, he retired. They traveled and visited many relatives in the “lower 48” until they settled in Wickenburg.

Ted was struck with a massive stroke on Monday, Dec. 23. His four loving children spoke to him via telephone as he lay in St. Joseph Hospital.

He is preceded in death by his parents and son Gerald.

He is survived by his wife Pam; sons Tom (Kim), Tim (Toni) DeBoer, and Hutch (Britany) White; daughter Allison (Dan) Nelson; seven grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; brothers Ron (Donna) DeBoer and Bill (Marlene) DeBoer; and sister Jean (Vern) Winefurter.

He was a much-loved and well-known man in his beloved Alaska and his new life and home in Wickenburg.

He was a life member of the Elks and held many offices. He loved his jobs, but first and foremost was his wife, his family, friends and his beloved dog Dixie.

A private memorial service for family was held at David’s Desert Chapel, which is handling the arrangements and the celebration of life at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5 at Wickenburg Elks Lodge No. 2160.
