Pamela Beth DeBoer was born in Edmore, N.D., to Wesley and Alice Connolly in 1946. The Connolly clan moved to Alaska when Pam was 15, and Wes and Alice opened the well-known Rig Cafe in Kenai, and the family ran the restaurant for several years before Wes and Alice retired.

Pam met her first husband Carl “Skip” White while working at the Rig, and they eloped to the lower 48 before Skip deployed to Vietnam. Upon his return they settled in the Kenai area and had two children, Allison Courtney and Carl Hutchins (Hutch). Pam worked until she retired for the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District. As a family, they had many great years till Pam and Skip divorced in the late 90s.

Pam met Ted DeBoer at a Christmas party for Totem Ocean Trailer Express where Ted was vice president. It was love at first sight, and after they were married they spent some time traveling and retired in Wickenburg a few years later. Ted said many times that Pam was the love of his life, saying to anyone that was listening that he “found gold in Alaska.” They were very happy until Ted passed away on Christmas Eve of 2013.

Pam was known by all that came in contact with her as a loving and generous person who was always available to listen. Because she was extremely intelligent, many relied on her sound advice. She loved her children to distraction and was overjoyed to add to her family son-in-law Dan Nelson and daughter-in-law Britany Bolsinger-White. Hutch and Britany gave her three beautiful grandchildren, Ava, Lillian and Alex White.

Pam told her daughter Allison that having her kids saved her life and marrying Ted healed her so that she could face her illness with grace and bravery. She said to her kids that she was not afraid to die, that she loved the Lord and was at peace and after a courageous fight.

Pam passed May 10, 2015, on Mother’s Day at her daughter’s residence in Helena, Mont., with her children and son-in-law at her side, holding her hands and singing her through to be with Jesus and her beloved Ted.

She is survived by daughter Allison (Dan) Nelson of Helena; son Hutch (Britany) White; and granddaughters Ava, Lillian and Alex of Anchorage, Alaska.

Pam is irreplaceable and will be missed terribly for her loving spirit, her wit, incredible intelligence and her beautiful smile.

Go with God, Mama. We will love you forever.

Services will not be held at this time. Condolences may be sent to the family in care of Allison Nelson, 5256 Stallion Ridge Rd., Helena, MT 59602.
